All about Jason
Cherry Home Inspections is owned by Jason Cherry, but you can call him Chip. When he’s not inspecting houses, he might be found kayaking the Grand River, mowing his lawn, or hanging out with InspectorWife, InspectorKids, and the InspectorDogs.
He is also an active member of the Rotary Club of Brantford-Sunrise helping to raise funds for worthy organizations and do great things in the community. He’s also proud and humbled to be selected as his Rotary club’s President for the 2022-23 year!
Jason has a passion for houses, both in how they are built and how they work. He also loves to help people understand their own homes to make the function of the house less of a mystery. There are many different systems and components that work together to make your home function comfortably.

Insurance Appraisal and Inspection
Jason worked for niche market insurance companies for 15 years inspecting houses across Canada from Montreal to Vancouver. He has inspected over 4000 homes ranging from $100,000 cottages to $10,000,000 estate homes. From pre-confederation stone houses to brand new homes and houses under construction, from expert renovations to nightmare DIY jobs, he has seen just about everything.Renovations
For over 15 years Jason has been renovating homes of all kinds from triple brick century homes to modern bungalows. He is no stranger to making new spaces fit into old construction and he has the scars to prove it. This experience gives him an experienced and critical eye when evaluating homes.
Communication
RIBO-Accredited Presenter
He can walk the walk, but he also talks the talk. For many years Jason has delivered RIBO-accredited presentations and seminars to insurance brokers and professionals. These seminars provided a thorough overview about house construction and the services of a house, the purpose and benefit of infrared inspections, WETT inspections for wood burning appliances, and case studies of failures and oddities and how to correct them.Helpful and Friendly
Years of interacting with thousands of people inside their homes gives one a knack for communication. Jason not only likes checking out houses, he also likes to demystify them and help people identify the systems in their home and how they work. A homeowner who understands how their houses work will have the confidence to be proactive with maintenance and any issue that may arise.
